Lacie update Oct 3

Today was more Theology and History—and a little Latin.  We spent eight hours doing history study guides and quizzes for Light to the Nations Part 1.  Initially, I assigned work in Chapter 2.  I decided to give Lacie quizzes on the introduction.  Is she retaining the information? A little.  I’m going to do regular review questions and quizzes to prepare for her midterm in January.  Then, Lacie did her first real lesson in Latin 1: first declension terra, vocabulary, and a few verbs.  Then, we revised her I Am Who I Am paper.  I posted copies of her draft and corrected paper to Google Classroom.

Tuesday, Lacie wrote her paper with the quotes in about two hours.  I spent 30 minutes marking the paper.  I used a highlighter to mark problems.  Today, we began with the high-lighted items.  Then we tackled some grammar and punctuation issues.  After, we worked on writing in the third person.  Lastly, we added a solid conclusion.  Yes, this takes time.  We spent over an hour on the revisions.  She has a decent paper for submission to Kolbe.  Tomorrow, after Chemistry, Lacie needs to work on the Robinson Crusoe paper and study guide questions.  We must take a Robinson Crusoe test before it is really over and can begin Oliver Twist.  Tomorrow, we need to do Algebra.  We managed some Guitar today.

I would like to tackle Theology and History on Tuesdays after Chemistry class.  I would like to spend Thursdays working on Latin, Literature, Algebra, and Guitar.  Fridays, after Chemistry class, I would like to complete any Chemistry, do some Algebra, and finally resume Grammar.  Dream a little dream.

Next week, Lacie has a doctor's appointment Friday.  So, after Chemistry class Tuesday, we'll do Friday's Chemistry.  I'll keep her Wednesday and Thursday to work on the rest of her subjects.  Like you, I'm taking this journey one day at a time.
