Lacie October 4th

This morning was the Chemistry class.  In Chem, the kids annotated their Periodic Tables, reviewed conversions, sig figs, and scientific notation.  Lastly, the kids got a start on their timelines of elements.  I taught many years in both private and public schools.  I was surprised that many kids had not made timelines using graph paper.

After class, Lacie worked on the Robinson Crusoe notes and study guide questions.  She is preparing for her final exam for Robinson Crusoe and her Better Man paper.  As she completes the study guide questions, she’s jotting examples of RC before and after his 35 year sojourn on the island, Despair.

After Chem class and before Lunch, I work with two girls on Brit Lit.  Lacie works at the dining room table with us.  It’s cozy; Sarah, Zach’s mom, stays with us, too, and works on her computer while Zach and two other kids do Physics in the basement.

After Lunch was Algebra and a little work on Sig Figs.  Lacie has to complete the timeline, sig dig, and conversion exercises for Chem next week.  My husband, Rob, does Algebra.  Lacie completed Lessons 7,8, and 9.  Rob assigned a quiz.  After three attempts, all of the answers are correct.  Rob wants Lacie to do more multiplying with positive and negative numbers next week.

My hope is to complete the RC paper and final exam next week.  Once we finish Robinson Crusoe, we can struggle through Oliver Twist!
