Brit Lit: Medieval Essays

Angel and Anna both have beloved medieval characters: Robin Hood and King Arthur.  They are writing essays.  The thesis statement is "R or A is an enduring and loved character in British literature."  The paper includes a bit of history influencing the character, relevant events, such as King Richard the Lion heart and the third crusade or the Peasant's Revolt.  The essay includes a character analysis of early legends and how the character and story has changed over time.  Lastly, the paper should have a paragraph explaining why R or A remain as enduring and popular stories in television or in film.  The rough draft is due Tuesday.  Yes, the kids are including parenthetical citations.  

Anna and Angel have different beloved movies and stories.  I want them to write with emotion.  Yes, I'm tailoring each assignment to each girl.  I differentiated the time-lines, too.  Anna did the early Medieval timeline.  I did the period from 1000 to 1500.  Angel is doing the Tudor period.  Truth?  I'm having a blast!
