Lacie: Update Week 1/21-23

Lacie is making steady progress in Chemistry.  No small feat; the class is in the midst of the toughest material, Stoichiometry.  She finished Test 9 and Lesson 33 in Algebra.  Our progress is slow; Lacie needs to do several exercises, take a practice test, make corrections, and finally take another version of the test.  Usually, she needs to make a few corrections of the final test, too.

Lacie did a rough draft of her Theology paper about Jesus quoting Psalms.  She left it at home and is going to type up the paper over the weekend.  I told her to use spell check and grammar to correct as much as possible before submission.  Yesterday, Lacie had Chem, her Alg test, and studied for the History midterm.  This morning, she studied for about 1 1/2 hours and took her History test, earning a 77%.  This morning she is working through Lesson 2 in Latin.  I want her to complete Exercises 11-14 today.  After lunch, Lacie is going to do Theology, Week 10, work in Laux, study guide questions, and notes about the Psalms.  She completed these exercises.

Today, I want her to do a chapter of History, Chapt.5.  Tomorrow after Chem, she is doing more Alg and Latin--the second half of Lesson 2, second declension neuter nouns.  How far did we get?  Lacie completed her Chem homework, two thirds of Chapt.5 in History, and some of the exercises in Lesson 34 in Algebra.  We decided to plow ahead in History and finish Chem while I can help.

Over the weekend, I want Lacie to type her Theology paper and work on the Oliver Twist study guide.  She is also reading Pride and Prejudice.  If we can pick up the pace, we may be able to complete the semester exams in Theology and History and the Final in Oliver Twist by the end of February.

We are at the point where we can start to make strides in the Humanity classes.  I think we can do a chapter a week now.  Kolbe recommends doing half a Lesson each week in Latin.  That is manageable.  We are already on track in Theology and Literature.  Lacie is performing well in ?Chemistry.  Algebra is still a struggle.  I am not introducing vocabulary or grammar for another month.
