Brit Lit: Pride and Prejudice

The girls are watching and reading Pride and Prejudice.  Lacie is working with Anna and Angel for this book.  We are doing Lacie’s assignments for Pride and Prejudice.  We’ll be adding several fun activities.  Below is our first assignment.  Note the quotes.  This is from Kolbe’s syllabus.
"Write a letter in the style of Mr. Collins to Elizabeth and Darcy congratulating them on their wedding.  Time the missive so that it is clear that Mr. Collins is writing the letter after sufficient time has elapsed for Lady Catherine de Bourgh to reconcile herself to the marriage.  Include an uplifting and unctuous quotation if you know of one suitable.  Let Richard Harp's insight that 'The amiability of the novel, then, is that its great comic characters are allowed always to be themselves' guide your writing.  Include witty asides offered by Elizabeth as she reads and Darcy as he listens.  Mr. Collins' letters can be found in Vol.1, Chapter XII (Letter of Introduction); Vol.III, Chapter VI (Condolence on Lydia's disgrace); Vol.III Chapter XV (Conversation between Mr. Bennett and Elizabeth during which he reads Collins' letter advising Elizabeth not to marry Darcy.)"
