Lacie Update 1/8/20

Over the Break, Lacie finished Oliver Twist and did several Bible readings.  She worked on several exercises from WBE, too.  Just before Christmas, Lacie finished her time-line and history of the development of the Atomic Theory for Chemistry.  She made her fur mole over Break.

Yesterday, after Chemistry class, Lacie worked on a paper for Theology--several hours in all.  Okay, she took a brief bike ride after class, before lunch.  We spent about 30 minutes reviewing her class work she had completed.  Lacie made some notes for her History Midterm, too.

This morning, we spent an hour further organizing her Theology paper, Jesus Quotes Psalms.  We are using the WBE (a paperback edition) to write her Theology essay.  She is using the instructions for exercises in WBE to write her thesis, organize her notes, and draft the paper---all WBE topics.  (BTW, Lacie is working through WBE entirely before we begin the vocab and grammar.)  We spent less than an hour outlining her paper.  Lacie is writing her first draft for Tuesday.  Additionally, she is reading Fr. Laux and doing study questions.

Lacie finished Oliver Twist.  Over the weekend, she is listening to Oliver Twist on audio and doing the study guide question.  Here is our literature strategy.
1. Read the book.  Slog through the whole thing.  Don't be concerned with too many details.
2.  Listen to the audio book.
3.  Watch the Disney version of Oliver.
4.  Complete all of the study guide questions.
5. Write the essays.
6.  Take the Final Exam.

Presently, Lacie is creating History notes.  Next she will re-take all of the Chapter tests.  Finally, Lacie will take her Mid-term exam.  We spent some time talking about note-taking strategies, identifying the main points, looking at captions, etc.

After lunch is Algebra and Latin.  Tomorrow after Chemistry is more Algebra, History tests, and Latin.  Wish me luck.
